TIPS FOR A FAMILY PHOTOGRAPHY SESSION
HAVE FUN!
First and foremost, getting your photos taken should be fun! I understand that figuring out what to wear or choosing the best location for your family can be stressful, but I am here to take that stress off your shoulders. I can share with you the best locations and provide access to a stunning client wardrobe at your disposal. Remember, while clothing and amazing locations add to the experience, the most important aspect is that you and your family enjoy the session and connect with each other.
FOLLOW YOUR CHILD'S LEAD
After capturing the classic shots—everyone looking at the camera for the grandparents—we can relax a bit.
My favourite images often come from allowing children to explore and do what they want.
When children lead the way, they naturally engage and play, bringing out their most authentic expressions.
For example, in one session, a little boy stuck with us for a few shots but then wanted to explore nature.
He collected leaves and observed bugs crawling on stones. It was perfectly fine. Let's have fun and allow me to document your child's interests at this age.
Let them lead the way. If your child isn't showing much interest, we can plan an activity that they will enjoy.
ENGAGE YOUR CHILD IN AN ACTIVITY
During a session, while photographing a mother and her baby bump, I noticed the little one exploring rocks in the water, supervised by dad.
This spontaneous activity unfolded naturally, and I captured beautiful moments of engagement.
Parents are encouraged to stay close to their little ones and simply be present with them while I photograph.
These moments of discovery and joy are priceless.
WHAT TO EXPECT
During the session, I will guide you through different poses and activities to capture a variety of shots.
The session typically lasts about an hour, allowing enough time for both posed and candid moments.
