FAMILY SESSION

How to Create a Fun Family Session with Me

Forget about the camera ! This is my biggest advice.

Just Have Fun ♥︎

Make your children excited about the session by emphasizing how much fun you'll have together. Warming them up to play, laugh, and enjoy the moment will create a relaxed atmosphere.

Embrace the Beauty of Real Moments

Perfection isn’t always real, and real moments aren’t always perfect. Deep down, you want authentic, heartfelt family photos that capture genuine connections and the love you share. It’s time to let go of perfection and celebrate the beauty in real moments.

Capturing Genuine Memories

Think about the most precious memories with your children. Messy bed-heads, laughter that lights up their eyes, faces snuggled into your shoulder, scraped knees with band-aids, and joyous, wild squeals. These are the moments that tell your family’s true story, and they’re exactly what I strive to capture.

The Uniqueness of Imperfection

Perfectly posed photos with perfect smiles often miss the essence of your family’s unique personalities and quirks. Instead of aiming for perfection, let’s embrace the genuine, imperfect moments that truly reflect your family’s love and connection.

Tips for a Family Photography Session ♥︎

  1. Preparation: Make sure everyone is well-rested and has had a snack before the session. Bring along some water and maybe a small snack for during the shoot.

  2. Clothing: Choose outfits that are comfortable and reflect your family's style.

  3. Play and Interact: Engage with your children in ways that make them smile and laugh naturally. Play games, tell jokes, or even have a tickle fight.

  4. Bring Props: Feel free to bring along props that your children love, like their favourite toy, a cozy blanket, or even fun accessories like hats or sunglasses.

  5. Be Flexible: Sometimes the best photos come from unexpected moments. Be open to going with the flow and letting your children lead the way.

Ideas for Natural Interaction and Bonding

  • Playful Tickles: A light tickle can spark laughter and create lively energy.

  • Share a Whisper: Lean in close and whisper something silly or sweet to your child.

  • Dance Together: Hold hands and dance to music, even if it's just a simple sway.

  • Touch Foreheads: A gentle touch of foreheads can be a beautifully intimate gesture.

  • Play with Toys: Use a favourite toy or prop to engage and play together.

  • Laugh Together: Tell a funny joke or make silly faces to bring out natural laughter.

  • Hold Hands: Simply holding hands can symbolise the connection between you and your child.

  • Cuddle and Embrace: Wrap your arms around your child for a comforting cuddle or a warm embrace.

  • Kiss and Nuzzle: Give your child a kiss on the cheek, forehead, or hand. A gentle nuzzle can create a tender moment.

  • Peekaboo: Hide behind your hands or a piece of fabric and pop out for a classic peekaboo game.

  • Airplane Play: Hold your child up like an airplane and "fly" them through the air.

  • Hair Play: Playfully wrap your child in your hair or let them gently tug at it while you laugh.

  • Shoulder Rides: Put your child on your shoulders for a fun perspective and playful moment.

  • "Eskimo" Kisses: Rub noses with your child to create a sweet, intimate connection.

  • Swing Them Around: Hold your child’s hands and gently swing them from side to side.

  • Play Pretend: Engage in imaginative play, like pretending to be animals or superheroes.

  • Spin Around: Hold your child by the hands and gently spin them around in a playful circle.

  • Catch and Hug: Pretend to chase your child, then catch them for a big hug and giggle.

  • Make Funny Faces: Pull silly faces at each other or in a mirror to evoke laughter.
